Tennyson Down and The Needles circular day hiking was around 6.5 mile in length. My partner Anne and I did this hike on our own whilst on a holiday on the Isle Of Wight with family and friends during September 2010. We started this day hiking trip just east of Freshwater Bay, parking just off the A3055 in a small free car park.

This was an easy to moderate hike with a wooden staircase, a short steep incline and a few long gentle inclines to cope with. The hike was fairly simple, hiking westward along the coast via Tennyson Down and Alum Bay to The Needles. We also return back over Tennyson Down via Freshwater Bay.
