Video - UK Cottages Holiday England, Port Isaac Walks North Cornwall, Self Catering Coastal Walking Holiday

UK Cottages Holiday England, Port Isaac Walks North Cornwall, Self Catering Coastal Walking Holiday was an anti-clockwise circular day hike about 6.5 miles in distance. The outward leg of this hike was from Port lsaac, westward to the secluded Inlet of Port Quin along the South West Coast Path. The coastline route between Port Isaac and Port Quin was an invigorating and stunningly picturesque rollercoaster ride along chaotic, tumbling cliffs and intricate hills. The return leg to Port Isaac was over peaceful fields, tree lined valleys and stone stiles.

England Cottages Holiday Cornwall, Walks In Bude, Coastal Walking Holiday Uk was a 5 mile day hike with a steep incline up to Compass Point headland. The walking after that was easy. We hiked along the coastal path southwards, which was near to the road from Upton onwards. At the start of Widemouth Sand the route turned inland over lovely fields to Bude Canal at Helebridge by Marhamchurch. The return to Bude was beside the quiet and peaceful Bude Canal.

Video - Worcestershire Walking Great Witley Hiking Abberley in the Heart Of England UK

Worcestershire Walking Great Witley Hiking Abberley in the Heart Of England UK was an interesting 7.5 miles hike. There was quite a lot of historic interest as well as scenic appeal along this hike in the midst of the woody hills of Abberley. Abberley Hills ascend to a height of around 305 metres above the countryside of pastures, meadows and orchards sandwiched between the Teme Valley and Severn Valley. The historical points of interest started with the impressive ruins of Witley Court, with the showy 18th-century Great Witley Church adjacent to it. In total contrast, we also visited the remains of a simple Norman church in Abberley Village. The chief scenic appeal was the fabulous hike along the top of the ridge of Abberley Hill, which was preceded by a very steep ascent.

This was an interesting and enjoyable hike. The terrain was relatively flat and fairly easy to traverse with one exception, that of the very steep climb up the wooded side of Abberley Hill. Much of the hike was along quiet country tracks, bridleways and lanes with a couple of road sections. There were also several pastures and meadows to traverse. The route was circular in an anti-clockwise direction with five legs.

Video - Worcestershire Walking Bewdley Hiking Wyre Forest in the Heart Of England UK

Worcestershire Walking Bewdley Hiking Wyre Forest in the Heart Of England was about 8 miles in distance. The initial section of this hike was about 0.75 miles beside the River Severn. The majority of the rest of the hike was through the charming Wyre Forest woodlands, which was one of the few forests around the Midlands that survived felling to fuel the local Black Country iron industries. Splendid views across the Severn valley and adjacent hills were enjoyed from some of the higher points along the route. Even though fairly long, this hike was relatively easy with only a couple of moderate inclines. Although mostly dry, there were a few muddy sections along some of the covered woodland tracks.

This was a pleasant start to a week of hiking. The terrain was relatively flat and fairly easy to traverse. The forest sections were slightly undulating and there were a few moderate inclines and descents. The route was circular in an anti-clockwise direction with five legs.

Video - St Teath Hiking Holiday Cornwall on the South West Coast Path England UK

My St Teath Hiking Holiday Cornwall near the South West Coast Path in North Cornwall, England, UK turned out to be a lovely adventure for my partner Anne and myself with seven days of hiking.

The county of Cornwall is in the south-west corner of England and has the longest coastline and the greatest number of sunshine hours compared to all other counties in England. Its fabulous scenery and pleasant climate make it the most frequented county destination for hiking holidays.

The seven hikes involved 6 on the South West Coast Path: Bude; Port Isaac; Dizzard Point; Tintagel & Boscastle; Padstow & Trevone; and Trebarwith &  Delabole; with one just off the coast path which was Padstow & The Camel Trail.

Video - Cornwall Walking Trebarwith Hiking Delabole on the South West Coast Path England UK

Cornwall Walking Trebarwith Hiking Delabole on the South West Coast was about 5.5 miles in distance and undertaken in May 2011. I did this hike with my partner Anne whilst on a Cornwall hiking holiday. We drove from our holiday accommodation in St Teath to the starting location of Trebarwith Strand valley pay and display car park.

Although not a demanding route; it had one steep descent and two steep ascents along the coast leg. The return leg back to Trebarwith Strand included a steep rocky downhill path that could be slippery when wet. The terrain is varied with coastal paths; quiet country lanes; paths over fields and meadows; and a variety of stiles. This hiking route was circular in an anti-clockwise direction with three legs and is for those hikers with a moderate level of ability.

Video - Cornwall Walking Padstow Hiking Trevone on the South West Coast Path England UK

Cornwall Walking Padstow Hiking Trevone on the South West Coast was about 7.5 miles in distance and undertaken in May 2011. Myself and my partner Anne did this hike whilst on a Cornwall hiking holiday. We drove from our holiday accommodation in St Teath to the starting location of Padstow Harbour long stay pay and display car park.

This was great hike on the South West Coast Path, initially beside the River Camel, passing the Doom Bar, famous for its stories of a lovesick mermaid. The terrain was mostly along narrow footpaths; a few steps and short ascents; peaceful fields and meadows and quiet tracks and lanes. However, check the weather forecast before you set out as there can be very high winds that make the route hazardous. This route was circular in an anti-clockwise direction with three legs and is suitable for people with a moderate level of hiking ability.

Video - Cornwall Walking Tintagel Hiking Boscastle on the South West Coast Path England UK

Cornwall Walking Tintagel Hiking Boscastle on the South West Coast Path was about 9 miles in distance and undertaken in May 2011. Myself and my partner Anne did this hike whilst on a Cornwall hiking holiday. We drove from our holiday accommodation in St Teath to the starting location of Tintagel main street pay and display car park.

The outbound leg of this hike is along an specially stunning section of the South West Coast Path. The hike is worth doing just for the coastal section alone. In addition, along the inbound legs there are also charming sections across fields and meadows and the attractive wooded St Nectan 's Glen. You can also take a small diversion to the Hermitage Tea Gardens to view its waterfall. As extras, there are the options of exploring the ruins of Tintagel and the very attractive fishing village of Boscastle. This is a demanding hike, but very worthwhile.

Video - Cornwall Walking Dizzard Point Hiking on the South West Coast Path England UK

Cornwall Walking Dizzard Point Hiking on the South West Coast Path was around 7.5 miles in length and done in May 2011 by my partner Anne and I during a Cornwall hiking holiday.

We travelled by car from our holiday accommodation in St Teath to the start of the hike at a roadside parking space for Cancleave Strand near Cancleave cottage, just south west of Millook and south of Bude.

This hike was one of the less trodden that we have done in Cornwall, probably as it was one of the most energetic sections of the North West Coast Path that we have come across. The walking around Dizzard Point was quite exhilarating, with steep ascents that were made worthwhile when we stopped to take in the fabulous views. The final leg of the hike took us through a rare example of Cornwall's primeval woodland.

Video - Cornwall Walking Padstow Hiking The Camel Trail England UK

Cornwall Walking Padstow Hiking The Camel Trail was about 12 miles in distance and undertaken in May 2011. Myself and my partner Anne did this hike whilst on a Cornwall hiking holiday. We drove from our holiday accommodation in St Teath to the starting location of Padstow harbour pay and display car park.

On this hike we went past the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow Harbour and followed a section of the Camel Trail, which is also a cycle path beside the River Camel. We hiked a few miles along a cycle path beside the river: crossing a large metal bridge; passing a picnic area and several creeks; through a disused slate tip and under a bridge. We also had a few joggers pass us and several cyclists.

We then crossed country along several quiet tree lined country lanes through some pretty little hamlets. To complete the hike we crossed rolling pastures; passed through quiet woodlands and went over Dennis Hill back to Padstow, with super views to the river and bay beyond. The later part of the hike was actually along The Saints' Way which is an ancient coast-to-coast route across the county.
